During a visit to Glacier National Park, we attempted to hike to Avalanche Lake but first explored the Trail of the Cedars. After successfully parking, we faced a challenging uphill journey, culminating in breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains, including a bear sighting. We ended our trip at McDonald Creek and Lake, appreciating the park’s unique beauty.

Driving Glacier National Park’s Going to the Sun Road
This September, we visited Glacier National Park, focusing on the iconic Going to the Sun Road. Reservations are essential during peak times, but same-day options exist. The drive offers stunning views, with several stops for photos and hikes. The park was busy, especially at popular spots, including Logan Pass and St. Mary Lake.
A Surprising Stop in Montana at Kootenai Falls
The journey from Spokane to Glacier National Park included a stop at Kootenai Falls, where stunning aqua-colored water and multiple waterfalls captivated us. We explored a swinging bridge before continuing to Kalispell, noted for its historic architecture and charming downtown.
